Event Marketing Manager

For our European Kobelco Headquarters, located in Almere, The Netherlands, we are recruiting an Event Marketing Manager.

Kobelco Construction Machinery Europe B.V. (KCME) is the exclusive European sales and marketing subsidiary of Kobelco Construction Machinery Ltd., a Japanese company specialized in manufacturing excavators and crawler cranes. Kobelco is the fastest growing crawler excavator brand in Europe since its re-entry into the European market in 2013. KCME’s business covers all European countries and Russia CIS and Northern- and Western Africa.

KCME is looking for an Event Marketing Manager to further promote our fast-growing Excavator business at international and national tradeshows with our passionate Sales and Marketing team.
The Event Marketing Manager will report to the head of Brand Marketing team.

YOU WILL:

  • Organize European International and national tradeshows with our Dealers and other external and internal stakeholders
  • Integrate the tradeshows in our brand and marketing campaigns
  • Designing and producing tradeshow materials e.g., Banners, posters and machine spec panels etc. Also promote them to our dealer network to improve Dealers’ own tradeshow/open days events to make them consistent look and feel.
  • Integrate and maximize sales of the European Kobelco branding goods and Scale Models sales at all tradeshows
  • Being present at all major EU- and local focused tradeshows
  • Develop and manage the organization of the tradeshows including external parties
  • Develop tradeshows plans and procedures, checks and evaluations of tradeshows
  • Budget and plan the tradeshows beforehand and monitor the budget processes (from EUR 20.000 to EUR 3mil)
  • Initiate ideas for booth building designs and machine layouts in line with our Branding strategy
  • Work closely with your colleagues to promote and make the event a success
  • Work closely with various external service providers such as booth designer & builder, catering, hosts and payment service provider etc.
  • Protect and maintain the values and guidelines of the Kobelco brand name
  • Support Kobelco’s dealer network in their tradeshows and campaigns in line with our Branding strategy
  • Develop and promote Kobelco tradeshow materials, including for dealers own tradeshows/open days so that they look consistent from a Branding perspective
  • Manage different external agencies to help create the content of our marketing activities
  • Ensure quality and consistency at every point of our brand presence
  • Perform, participate in, or support our Digital Marketing tasks during the off-season (create ideas for SNS posts and their strategies, analyses of Digital marketing access etc.)

YOU’RE GOOD AT:

  • Organizing, keeping the overview, creativity, a high level of commitment, initiative, and teamwork as well as excellent communication skills
  • Planning, coordinating the external suppliers and leading the tradeshows
  • Booth quality control, eye on every detail of the booth finish
  • Budget planning and control.
  • Performing effectively under pressure, consistent management of changing situations with tact, poise, and patience
  • Meeting strict deadlines
  • You creatively resolve diverse, difficult, and complex problems

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

  • MBO+ or Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-10+ years of relevant experience in tradeshows or similar events management
  • English speaking, writing, and reading skills
  • Flexible and able to respond quickly and effectively to changing priorities
  • Flexible to travel on weekends, sometimes whole week
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create formal and attractive presentations
  • Proficiency with computer tools (minimum MS Office)
