SK30SR-6 and SK35SR-6 feature iNDr technology and benefit from reduced running costs

Kobelco Construction Machinery Europe B.V. (KCME) is pleased to announce the arrival of the new SK30SR-6 and SK35SR-6 – two new specialist earthmoving and construction excavators in the 3-4 tonne categories available from the growing European Kobelco dealer network.

The SK30SR-6 and SK35SR-6 are the direct result of 80 years excavator manufacture allied to modern technology and customer feedback. Both machines are set to be class leaders due to exceptional reduced fuel consumption and operational costs while delivering the same renowned working performance as previous Kobelco machines in the same class.

We Save You Fuel leading to cost savings. Powering both new models is a Yanmar engine (Type 3TNV82) which realises a dramatic reduction in fuel consumption over dash-5 models. S-mode (normal work) fuel consumption has decreased by a remarkable 25%, while the already efficient H-mode operation netts a further 15% reduction. Even though the new engine’s capacity is smaller compared to previous dash-5 equivalent models, hydraulic performance of the dash-6 models remains at the same exacting level by utilising the existing hydraulic circuitry. Pump 3, previously used only for dozer blade and swing operation, now also contributes to boom and arm function. This means the application of shared forced fluid reduces engine/hydraulic workload and contributes to exceptional fuel savings for the customer.

Serviceability is greatly enhanced with the introduction of iNDr technology and key technical updates. Kobelco’s Integrated Noise and Dust Reduction Cooling System (iNDr) technology is fitted as standard to the SK30SR-6 and SK35SR-6 – a first in the 3-4 tonne category. This system allows easy access to the air filter now mounted in front of the radiator system and prevents damaging the radiator while cleaning. This also reduces day-to-day servicing downtime and the use of additional tools. To assist with extra electronic safety/working aids, a larger fuse box with a greater range of fuses has been included.

Operator comfort is an all-important consideration in machine operation and purchase. With the fitment of iNDr, machine noise level has been reduced by 7 dB to provide greater operator comfort as well as lessening on-site noise, which is an important consideration for suburban work areas. While the canopy remains available, a significant update compared to the dash-5 model is the inclusion of an air conditioning system for the cabin version, which now comes as standard on all dash-6 machines. The unit has been sited to ensure increased operator visibility to the rear and right of the new machines. The reclining operator chair* with mechanical suspension, the one-touch decelerator button on the operation lever, and the radio entertainment system with ports for USB drive and auxiliary input, adds to operator comfort.

Quality of design and manufacture has also increased the number of possible hydraulic attachment combinations that can be used with the SK30SR-6 and SK35SR-6. This includes combining functions such as Rotation and Nibbler and Breaker, Object Handling Kit (OHK) and Quick Coupler piping (aka Quick Hitch). Safety guards are now incorporated to protect the windscreen and roof window, and the boom light has been recessed under the boom for protection.
